Program Information Teepees at School brings Ojibway culture to your classroom - the field trip that comes to you! Choose from one of the following packages. Maximum of 30 students. A follow up experiential activity selected by the teacher from various choices available after discussion with the presenter. Students actually learn to set up a large teepee hands on - a truly memorable experience. Class activities within the constructed teepee complete the day. | $395 plus mileage | | Whole School | This program gives an opportunity for the whole school to experience the teepees. Students learn some historical and contemporary teepee uses, teepee etiquette and traditional living. They learn about the museum quality artifacts used to furnish the teepee. They also learn how the sun and wind are used to heat and cool the teepee; they will actually set up a large teepee. Options include native drumming and singing and other selected programs. One 25 foot and one 18 foot teepee form the classroom. Seven classes per day. | $795 plus mileage and freight | | School Camp Out | Truly the ultimate teepee experience! This exceptional cultural program is planned with the Camp Director to determine the nature and content of the camp. Options may include making a traditional lacrosse stick and playing the game; canoeing; making a traditional bow and arrow and other tools; and cooking traditional foods in traditional ways. All this is in addition to the teachings about teepee management, technology and etiquette. | $125 per student per night. Minimum 20 students. |
